BCJP PRE-GED CLASS INSTRUCTOR
Up to 4 Hours Weekly
$21.00/Hour
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Instruct classes of Berks County Juvenile Probation clients in math, science, social studies, reading, writing, and speaking English, using methods learned in the LCRB Tutor Orientation. Position requires completion of the LCRB Tutor Orientation and related experience in the adult education field and/or juvenile justice system.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Complete LCRB New Tutor Orientation
Prepare class lessons according to the guidelines set forth by the Berks County Juvenile Probation Office
Teach the following classes weekly, at the Elm Street Location:
• Pre-GED Tuesday 01:30 P.M. – 03:30 P.M.
• Pre-GED Thursday 01:30 P.M. – 03:30 P.M
Current Pennsylvania Criminal Background Check and Act 143 Clearance
Excellent organizational, communication, and computer skills
Ability to be flexible and work well with disadvantaged populations
Participate in professional development activities annually
Other duties assigned by supervisor
Please note: Candidates may be asked to teach a lesson prior to being hired.
